Event Overview

Join ASHE Carolina Piedmont for a technical Lunch & Learn highlighting the design-build delivery of 17 miles of Express Lanes in the I-485 median, extending from I-77 to US-74, including direct connectors at Westinghouse Boulevard and Johnston Road, a new I-485/Weddington Road interchange, and modifications to the East John Street interchange.

This presentation will discuss the project’s construction timeline to completion, COVID-era impacts, and the design-build challenges and solutions employed to deliver a complex transportation corridor in a highly constrained environment. The discussion will also cover multi-agency coordination, traffic control strategies, and the design and construction of complex interchange improvements for NCDOT.

We encourage attendees to bring questions or submit them in advance to help guide the conversation and ensure a meaningful exchange of ideas.

Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with fellow professionals, gain fresh perspectives, and contribute to the dialogue shaping our region’s transportation future.

Whether you’re a public- or private-sector professional, this event is a great opportunity to learn directly from local and state leaders while networking with fellow ASHE members and transportation peers.
